Welcome back
The 2026 convective season is officially open. If you're new here, Chaseit is a southern UK storm-chasing community — a forecasting cockpit and an operational layer for chasers across southern England, Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia.
A handful of things are new this year worth pointing at.
News + events
This page exists. So does /events — a public calendar of chase days, briefings, training sessions and meetups. Every published event is RSVPable by members and exports to ICS so you can subscribe from your calendar app.
Coordinators draft an event automatically every time the convective outlook flips to MRGL or higher; you'll see those land in /events for review and confirmation as the season warms.
Member directory
/members shows everyone who's opted into the public directory, with a season-tally leaderboard ranking chasers by public reports submitted in the last 12 months. Profiles are at /m/[your-id]. Edit your visibility, add Bluesky/Mastodon handles, and review your call sign from /profile.
Discussion
Every news post, event, and storm report now has a comments section. Members can post; coordinators moderate. The code of conduct applies — read it before joining a thread.
Subscribe
Don't want to refresh the site? The homepage subscribe widget covers daily outlook digests, severe-day alerts, news/events announcements, and — this is new — per-region SLGT+ alerts so you only get pinged when your corner of the country is firing.
Code of conduct
Read it. Especially the section on cordons and ops vehicles. Safety first, public second, the chase third.
